Giles Pope was born in 1963 in Chicago, IL. He has lived in Guatemala, Central America, New York City, San Francisco and now resides in Providence, RI.

Giles is deeply inspired by artists such as: Picasso, Salvador Dalí, René Magritte and Hieronymous Bosch.

The abstract figure paintings are considered to be both beautiful and disturbing.

Giles is inspired by natural forms such as bones, which he also uses in his assemblage sculptures that are nightmarish in nature.
